For over 50 years, Greenville Babe Ruth has provided a safe and fun environment for the youth of Greenville and Pitt County. It is designed to provide a competitive and instructional environment for baseball in our community.
Prep League
Greenville adopted a prep league years ago designed to create an even playing field for 13 year old players during their transition to the regulation size playing field. A regular season with an end of the year tournament, the league assures ample playing time for all participants and an instructional environment. Most games will be played on the Prep Field at Guy Smith Park.
Junior Babe Ruth
This league is designed to be a more competitive atmosphere with players aged 14-15. Comprised of 9-10 regular season teams, each team will play a full regular season with an end of the year tournament. A fun, instructional environment with all games played at Guy Smith Stadium.
Senior Babe Ruth
This league is for players ages 16-18 and provides a high level of competitive play among players from Greenville, Pitt County and the surrounding counties in a regular season league. Players will travel to other venues (high schools, recreational fields, etc) to play the regular season games. There is an end of the season tournament with all games being held at Guy Smith Stadium.
Post Season Play
Greenville Babe Ruth has a rich tradition of excellence in post season, all star play. All players who participate in at least 85% of regular season games will be eligible for all star play that season. There is an all star team in all three age groups in the junior division of Babe Ruth (13,14,15). The trail of games consists of area tournaments, state tournaments, regional tournaments and world series competition. The location of each of these tournaments varies from year to year.
